Dr. Odd Ketil Andersen

CEO and Manager


Odd Ketil holds a Masters and PhD, and has carried out a post doc in marine biology at University of Oslo with one year at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, US. Employed in private industry from 1985 to 1992, and head of research at International Research Institute of Stavanger (IRIS) from 1992 to 2008. Founder of four companies as subsidiaries to IRIS; Akvamiljø Caspian AS, BiotaGuard AS, GenderGuide AS and BioPartner AS. Odd Ketil has always enjoyed working in the area between research and application, and has with age found that applying knowledge to create new solutions and to exploit opportunities are most rewarding.

Kirsten Redmond

Researcher and Consultant


Kirsten Redmond holds a Masters degree in aquaculture biology from the University of Bergen, and a Bachelors degree in biological sciences and environmental science from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Stavanger within the biological chemistry program, through the industrial PhD programme. Kirsten´s PhD thesis focuses on the development of the new generation biosensors developed by BiotaTools. Kirsten has a background in bivalve biology and physiology, and has been involved in applied research within both aquaculture and environmental monitoring. Kirsten is due to complete her PhD in early 2015.
