Preliminary investigations on the giant file clam

BiotaTools have collected giant file clam (Acesta excavata) from Lysefjorden, and are in the process of gathering preliminary information regarding the species┬┤ feeding physiology and behaviour using the BiotaTools sensor system. The giant file clam is of interest for deep water and Arctic monitoring, where it is most commonly found at depths between 200-800 m and often in association with reef-building corals, mainly Lophelia pertusa.
